The good news is that there are no downloads required to share your desktop with FreeConference.com. All that you will need is the Google Chrome browser.
Our FreeConference screen sharing service works right inside your browser using WebRTC technology allowing you and your participants to join from their computer completely FREE via your Online Meeting Room. There is nothing to download and no need for your participants to register anywhere.
All that is necessary is:
- A computer (Mac or Windows)
- Either a headset or a microphone with speakers (we recommend a USB headset for Windows computers)
- Google Chrome browser OR the FreeConference App*
To use the service straight away, log in to your account online and click on ‘Start’. This will open a window giving you the option to join the call via your computer or telephone. Click on ‘Call by computer’, follow the instructions and click ‘Connect’. You may be prompted to share your webcam and microphone – choose the correct device and click ‘Share selected device’. Your meeting will now begin.
Note that the first time you share your screen a message will pop up asking you to add 'FreeConference Screen Sharing' - click on 'Add Extension' and continue. *Screen Sharing can be done using the Chrome browser on your computer, as well as using our downloadable App for desktop (macOS & Windows). Google Chrome and all FreeConference apps can be downloaded here.
